The Future Competition Pattern of the Service Trade in China
—Analysis based on the Changes in Comparative Advantage

Abstract: Service trade is a way of participating in international division of labor, so the basic principle and reasonable content of international division of labor is also applicable to service trade. The factor intensity of the Chinese service trade reflects its current comparative advantage and competitive advantage. With the dynamic change of China's comparative advantage, it should quickly turn its advantages in the factors of production into the competitive advantage in the service industry and the service trade, and vigorously develop the human capital-intensive service and the emerging cross-border service trade that is technology- and knowledge-intensive. China needs to make full use of its advantage as an large open economy, and foster advantage in two-way investment in the service industry; strengthen cooperation with countries participating in the "One Belt and One Road" initiative, and create advantage in diversifying the service trade market; use institutional advantage to constantly introduce and improve management and coordination mechanism, taxation, financial, and trade policies, and statistics system.
